Dental Chairside Assistant
Diploma Program (38 Weeks)
Program Summary
Students in the Dental Chairside Assistant program will discover that it is both challenging and comprehensive. The course covers both hands-on and theoretical training in operative dentistry, lab procedures, and dental radiology. In addition, anatomy, biology, nutrition, microbiology, pharmacology, and oral pathology are examined. Education in dental office procedures, basic computer applications, bookkeeping, and appointment scheduling complete the classroom training and are followed by a required clinical experience.
Employment Opportunities
A Dental Chairside Assistant graduate can apply for positions in general dentistry or with an endodontist, a periodontist, a prosthodontist, or an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Positions in dental sales, dental distribution and manufacturing are also rewarding. Other graduates find themselves employed in the dental department of a hospital, dental laboratory, or with a public health department.
