Dental Hygiene
Diploma Program (88 Weeks)

Program Summary
Students in the Dental Hygiene program will discover that it is both challenging and comprehensive. The program involves hands-on and theoretical training. Education in Nutrition, Pharmacology and Microbiology are offered in conjunction with General Anatomy and Physiology. In addition, Radiography, Pharmacology and Public Dental Health are also key components.

Employment Opportunities
In Canada, dental hygienists may pursue careers in both community and clinical practice. In order to practice, dental hygienists must complete a recognized dental hygiene program, and be registered or licensed with the appropriate provincial or territorial regulatory authorities. A Dental Hygiene graduate can assume entry level roles in the profession; clinician, educator, researcher, consultant or other related positions as defined by the CDHA. Other graduates may find themselves employed in a dental department of a hospital, a dental laboratory or with a public health department.
